    BRILLIANT. This is a great mystery. Karin Baxter is a likeable heroine and the reader is onboard immediately. she's trying to find out if her father's death is an accident or a cover up. The father is a very clever engineer. I have a weakness for clever engineers. As Karin gets closer to the truth, she risks unsettling the well-heeled of Western Australia and her own close friendship group. This is a very clever writer.

At close to 300 pages The Miner's Widfe gives off Treasure and Dirt or The Valley (Chris Hammer) vibes but with a more introspective lens.

    This is a well written story that is a fabulous romance. I really loved Rika, a strong and courageous heroine, and Richard is a fabulous hero. There are fabulous characters in the story and a very sensual romance and I look forward to more stories in this series. I do highly recommend this one to any romance reader who loves a good quick and witty story that is sure to leave you smiling.

Mel Hammond is an Australian author who travels the country in her van making up stories about strong capable heroines who can save themselves in any situation but it helps if a ruggedly handsome hero strides onto the page to lend a helping hand. Mel has always made a living from her writing, whether it be journalism, travel writing, podcasting, or teaching High School English. She has published literary and middle grade fiction, but her current obsessions are romantic comedies and small town coastal romances, with a bit of crime/thriller writing on the side.
