Welcome To My Writing World

Welcome To My Writing World

There's nothing more inspiring than looking at the majesty of million year old gorges surround by mulga, spinifex and the setting sun, in a place where few people have heard of and even less people have travelled, and calling it work.

The red dirt of the Pilbara has been home for for me for much of this year, where I have had the privilege of living and working in Tom Price, and exploring Karijini National Park in my spare time.

Who can blame a writer for setting a book here. Nameless, a Karin Baxter crime thriller is set in West Australia's exotic Pilbara, where iron ore trains travail the plains and valleys of the Hammersley Ranges to the seaport of Dampier.

My newest release, which I had to divert to Brisbane for my daughters to release on my behalf, is out now.

And Book 2, Rightful Inheritance, is well on the way to being finished soon. I managed to find a lost city and invent a board game during the writing of this one.

Welcome to my world of research, writing and travel. I'm either writing books or researching ideas for books or scouting settings for books.

Did I mention books?

You can find most of my books on my website, where there will be a quick release of romantic comedies between now and Christmas that have been patiently awaiting their turn while this author was distracted by a life of crime.

Location freedom is one name for the life I live. Not having to do housework is another. At the end of every day I get to watch the sun do its thing as it falls off the edge of Oz. I just never quite know where that will be, which is half the fun.

The other half of my fun comes from choosing where to set up my laptop for the day, look at the nearest ocean, mountain, or lake, and begin to type.

As for my dog, his heart is where the nearest rockpool is, and one day he will catch that dastardly crab, that no matter how hard he tries, manages to evade him and keep him twitching in his dreams.
